How BPAY Group's open APIs are powering innovative payment solutions

How BPAY Group's open APIs are powering innovative payment solutions 19 November 2019 - By Collaborative Media & Publishing BPAY Group has launched a new Developer Portal to help organisations to access BPAY APIs and create solutions that support their business and their customers’ needs.   The portal, initially launched in October with four BPAY Payments APIs, and information about Sypht APIs, creates a one stop shop for developers, product managers and other innovators to build new payment services. Australian Fintech NoahPay is the first to use both the BPAY and Sypht APIs in a new payment app: Billax. QR codes set to turbocharge SME real time payments

QR codes set to turbocharge SME real time payments 08 October 2020 - By Collaborative Media & Publishing QR codes within Australia's real-time payment system Osko help to streamline the way small businesses accept payments, and the functionality is available now to those financial institutions that want to provide it to their customers. The code contains all the information to pre-populate the payment fields i...

Face value: the new tap and go

Face value: the new tap and go 03 March 2021 - By Collaborative Media & Publishing Helen of Troy’s face was said to have launched a thousand ships. Fast-forward centuries later and new payment technology can put a far more precise value on a face. Facial recognition technology is being used by banks, retailers and governments to make paying for everyday goods and services even easier. Banking apps and digital wallets are already taking advantage of the functionality, which is baked into the Apple iPhone and is being rolled out on Android phones. It dispenses with the need to use cash or cards to pay for goods and services, although the technology also raises issues around privacy and security. China leads the way China is leading the world in facial recognition technology, with consumers using local payment apps Alipay and WeChat Pay to purchase goods and services across retail and hospitality. NoahPay Director and Co-founder Ryan Yan says WeChat Pay and Alipay have launched paymen...

About this blog

A Picture of Ryan Yan As 2021 draws to a close, it is another time to focus on reflections and new year resolutions, as well as ensuring my Medibank Extra insurance policy limits have been put to good use. Thanks for the casual conversations and friendship I have had with my dental clinic, the manager has indulged me with a last-minute end-of-year appointment request with 3 hours of notice.  I selected a random episode in one of my favorite podcasts co-hosted by Naval Ravikant & Brett Hall, just trying to cancel the noise coming from my dentist's drilling noise, which I didn't finish listening to until after my pre-dinner walk.  Contrary to most of Naval's distinct 1-minute episodes, this one is over 45 minutes long. The gentlemen exchanged ideas on limitations of Bays theorem, probability of the existence of alien civilizations, nature of resources.  One interesting idea I've learned from these 45 minutes was that while the belief of alien civilizations other th...
